Foundational Family Services – ABA 101
June 30 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pmFree
What is ABA? A workshop for parents/caregivers presented by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA).
This parent and caregiver workshop is designed to give a brief overview on what Applied Behaviour Analysis is and how we use the concepts and strategies in behavioural intervention. This workshop is presented by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA). The overview includes looking at functions of behaviour, positive reinforcement, and strategies to address challenging behaviours based on function. Learning outcomes include learning new function-based strategies for challenging behaviours, how to assess antecedents and consequences and how to utilize positive reinforcement.
Since this workshop is funded by the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) as a Foundational Family Service, examples provided during the workshop will tend to focus on children with a diagnosis of autism.
