Foundational Family Services: Understanding ASD
April 13 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
FreeHow can a diagnosis of Autism affect your every day life?
Autism Spectrum Disorder, ASD, Asperger’s – some of the terms that an individual who has the diagnosis might hear. But, what does it really mean? How could a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder affect an individual’s everyday life?
This workshop is specifically designed to help those between the ages of 10-18 years old, with the diagnosis of ASD understand what it could mean for their daily functioning (i.e., social skills, communication, motor skills, executive functioning).
It’s important to understand that no individual experiences Autism Spectrum Disorder in the exact same way, as such this workshop covers the possible impacts of the diagnosis.
The workshop will include videos, discussions, and teaching through PowerPoint.
This workshop is funded by the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) as a Foundational Family Service.
Requirements: 10-18 years old with a knowledge of their Autism Diagnosis.
Tech Requirements: Must have the ability to connect to Zoom (Computer or handheld devices, such as a tablet or cellphone).
