Getting an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Diagnosis

Families can receive an ASD diagnosis from qualified professionals who have undergone specific training. These include, but are not limited to, doctors (such as family physicians, pediatricians, developmental pediatricians, and psychiatrists), psychologists and psychological associates, and nurse practitioners.

Families in the Counties of Haliburton, Peterborough, Northumberland and the City of Kawartha Lakes can contact Five Counties Children Centre at 1-888-779-9916 ext. 100 to begin the diagnostic process.

Families located elsewhere in Ontario can contact a local diagnostic hub, funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, for a diagnostic assessment. More info about diagnostic hubs can be found here.
