To demonstrate commitment, quality, and accountability to the people they serve and other key stakeholders, community service organizations strive to earn accreditation through FOCUS Accreditation Services*, a “made in Ontario” accreditation process. FOCUS’s accreditation standards were developed based on expert advice, research, and input provided by citizens of Ontario. The accreditation process is carried out by one lead and two or more peer validators, depending on the size of the organization. All validators are professionals who have extensive experience in human services.

It is with great pride and pleasure that I announce Canopy Support Services has successfully achieved reaccreditation under the FOCUS Accreditation for a third consecutive cycle. This recognition extends our accreditation for another four years, from May 2026 to May 2030.
At Canopy, we deeply value being recognized as an accredited organization committed to evidence-based best practices. This accreditation reflects our steadfast dedication to enhancing quality and safety, delivering exceptional client care, demonstrating accountability, strengthening credibility and reputation, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
We also acknowledge the courage and integrity it takes to invite an external body to evaluate every aspect of our work. This rigorous process underscores our commitment to transparency, excellence, continuous quality improvement mindset and ongoing growth. As part of this third FOCUS accreditation cycle, Canopy underwent a comprehensive two-week validation process aligned with the FOCUS Accreditation 2024 standards during the last two weeks of April 2026.
I am thrilled to share that we achieved 100% compliance across all 151 standards. This is an extraordinary milestone, made even more significant by the fact that Canopy is the first organization to reach 100% compliance under the FOCUS Accreditation 2024 standards. This accomplishment is a powerful reflection of Canopy’s exceptional organizational performance, made possible by the incredible dedication, professionalism, exceptional commitment and passion from our staff to delivering high-quality care to the people supported, their caregivers, families, and our valued community partners. I am proud to say - Excellence isn’t a goal, it’s a standard for Canopians!
This achievement marks another significant milestone for Canopy. We extend our sincere appreciation to our people supported, caregivers, families, and our many community partners for their continued support, encouragement, and trust. We remain committed to providing excellent, high-quality care that enhances the quality of life across the lifespan for the people we serve.
