PEERS® for Women
Social Skills Group
PEERS for Women is a 14-week evidence-based social skills program for women aged 16-35 who are interested in making and keeping friends and/or handling conflict and rejection.
Overview of PEERS®:
PEERS® (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) is an evidence-based social skills program designed for teens and young adults.
Participants should be interested in making and keeping friends, joining group activities, or improving social communication skills.
A Social coach (e.g., family member, support worker, staff) is recommended to support in practicing and generalizing skills to the real world.
Each session includes structured lessons, real-life practice, role-plays, and supportive coaching. PEERS® helps build confidence, independence, and meaningful social connections.
Participants Will Learn:
Developing and Maintaining Friendships
Conversational skills
Entering and exiting conversations
Handling disagreements
Identifying good friendship qualities
Electronic communication
Organizing get-togethers
Strengthening emotion regulation and problem solving skills
Group Details:
Date and Time: Sessions are 14 consecutive weeks beginning January 12th, 2026. Sessions are from 5:30-7pm. (No sessions on Feb 16th, March 16th, or April 6th)
Location: In-Person at our main office, 150 O’Carroll Ave, Peterborough, ON
Pricing: This group is free for individuals who qualify for our Behavioural Consultation Services program.
