🎯 Ready, set, play! This ABA-based recreation program is designed for children ages 7–12 who love movement and games. Through structured sports and group activities, participants build essential life skills while having a blast! This group is being run in partnership with the YMCA.

What to Expect:

•  🏃‍♀️Gross Motor Skills: Running, throwing, catching, and balancing are all part of the action.

• 🤝 Social & Play Skills: Kids learn to take turns, initiate play, and respond to peers.

• 📋 Following Rules: Practice listening to group instructions and game rules.

• 😌 Emotional Regulation: Learn to handle transitions, cope with losing, and stay flexible.

• 🗣️ Communication: Ask for help, cheer on teammates, and share excitement!

This group is geared towards children/youth with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis and is an OAP-eligible expense.

🤸‍♀️✨ Gymnastics meets growth! This exciting recreational program blends the fun of gymnastics with the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) to support kids ages 7–12 in developing motor, social, and communication skills. Held at the Peterborough YMCA, this small-group class offers individualized 1:1 support to ensure every child feels safe, successful, and included. This group is being run in partnership with the YMCA.

What to Expect:

• 🏃‍♂️ Motor Skills: Kids build balance, coordination, strength, and body awareness through dynamic movement.

• 🗣️ Communication Skills: Learners practice requesting equipment, asking for help, and commenting on activities.

• 🤝 Social Skills: Turn-taking, teamwork, and peer encouragement are all part of the fun.

• 🧠 Behavioural Goals: Children work on following directions, transitioning between activities, and waiting with ease.

• 🌈 Self-Regulation: Calming strategies are taught during sensory-rich experiences to help kids stay cool and confident.

📢 Is your child starting high school this fall? Let’s make the transition smooth & confident! High school is a big leap, but with the right skills, your child can start strong! Our Transition to High School Skills Group is an 8-week program running from July 23 – August 27, including check-in sessions in September & October, designed to boost confidence, reduce anxiety, and build key skills for navigating new environments 🎒🎓

At this time, these groups are being run for students transitioning to KPR and PVNC high schools in Peterborough- Adam Scott, Crestwood, TASS, Kenner, St. Peters, and Holy Cross

Group Details:

• 📅 8-week program starting July 23rd with daytime sessions from 1:00pm - 2:30pm

• ⌛ Session Length: 1.5 hours

• 📍 Location: Canopy Support Services & Identified High School (Adam Scott, Crestwood, Holy Cross, Kenner, St. Peter, TASS)

• 🎯 Cost: $2,360 for the entire 8 week group

🌟 Stepping Out in Cobourg with Confidence is perfect for teens who are ready to take the next step toward independence—on their own terms! 🌟

Stepping Out with Confidence is a 4-week Applied Behaviour Analysts (ABA)-based group designed just for teens on the Autism Spectrum who are eager to build independence, social skills, and real-world confidence—at their own pace.

Each week, teens will join a small, supportive group of peers to:
✅ Practice executive functioning skills like planning, organizing, and managing time.
✅ Build social confidence through engaging, real-life interactions.
✅ Go on guided community outings—ordering at a restaurant, navigating public spaces like the YMCA, or shopping with a purpose.

Led by experienced ABA therapists, this group provides a low-pressure, encouraging environment where teens can grow, make friends, and develop skills they'll use every day.

Group Details:

• 📅 Dates: Weekly from July 16, 2025 – August 6, 2025
