PEERS® for Adolescents
Social Skills Group
PEERS® for Adolescents is a 14-week evidence-based social skills program for adolescents in middle and high school who are interested in making and keeping friends and/or handling conflict and rejection.
Participants will learn:
Developing and Maintaining Friendships
Conversational skills
Entering and exiting conversations
Appropriate use of humor
Handling disagreements
Electronic communication
Being a good sport
Organizing get-togethers
Handling teasing and bullying
Changing Reputations
Cost:
The fee for this 14 week group is $4900.00 and is an OAP-eligible expense.
Group Details:
This group is for teens with a diagnosis of Autism, aged 13-17 years old.
This 14 week group begins Thursday, September 10th and runs until Thursday, December 10th, 2026.
Parents attend separate sessions simultaneously and are taught how to assist adolescents in making and keeping friends (parent participation Is required).
Each week will be 1 hour in length and participants are taught social skills through didactic lessons and role-play demonstrations and practice these skills during group socialization activities.
This group takes place in person at our Peterborough office.

Social Explorers (Ages 6-12)
Get ready for an exciting 8‑week adventure where kids ages 6–12 build confidence, friendship skills, and real‑world social know‑how—all in a fun, supportive environment! 🤝✨
This structured, evidence‑informed social skills program is designed to help children strengthen peer connection, understand emotions, and navigate tricky social moments with confidence. Each week, children take part in interactive activities that make learning social skills feel natural, upbeat, and engaging. 🎉

Through group games, modeling, role‑play, and guided discussions, kids will learn how to:

🕹️ Social skills meet screen time! This unique ABA-based program is perfect for youth ages 12-17 who love video games and benefit from structured social learning. Using popular multiplayer games, participants practice real-world social skills in a fun, relatable way.
What to Expect:
🌐 Internet Safety: Learn to navigate online spaces responsibly.
🤝 Teamwork & Turn-Taking: Practice cooperation, compromise, and sportsmanship.
💬 Communication: Comment, cheer, and ask for help in-game and in real life.
😌 Emotional Regulation: Handle wins, losses, and transitions with confidence.
This group is geared towards teens with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis and is an OAP-eligible expense.

Community Participation Group for Teens (Ages 13–17)

This 4-week ABA-based community participation group is designed for teens aged 13–17 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who are looking to build independence, confidence, and social connections in a supportive and engaging environment.
Through real-world experiences and community-based activities, participants will practice important life and social skills alongside peers while receiving guidance from trained staff.

Hosted at the YMCA in Cobourg, this 4-week program provides opportunities for children to connect with peers through interactive games 🎲, team activities 🏅, guided conversations 💬, and social challenges tailored to their age and interests.

Stepping Out with Confidence is a 4-week Applied Behaviour Analysts (ABA)-based group designed just for teens on the Autism Spectrum who are eager to build independence, social skills, and real-world confidence—at their own pace.
Each week, teens will join a small, supportive group of peers to:
✅ Practice executive functioning skills like planning, organizing, and managing time.
✅ Build social confidence through engaging, real-life interactions.
✅ Go on guided community outings—ordering at a restaurant, navigating public spaces like the YMCA, or shopping with a purpose.
Led by experienced ABA therapists, this group provides a low-pressure, encouraging environment where teens can grow, make friends, and develop skills they'll use every day.
