Designed for youth aged 13-17, this in-person group introduces the powerful tools of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in a supportive, interactive environment. Whether you're navigating big emotions, tough relationships, or just want to better understand yourself—this group is for YOU. 💬✨

What to Expect: Over the week, you’ll explore the foundations of DBT and build your own personalized coping toolbox.

  • 🧭 What is DBT? – Learn the core principles behind this evidence-based approach to emotional regulation and mindfulness.

  • 🛠️ Build Your Toolbox – Discover practical strategies to manage stress, improve communication, and handle intense emotions.

  • 🤝 Real Talk, Real Skills – Connect with peers in a safe space where your voice matters and your experiences are valid.

  • 🌟 Empowerment Through Insight – Gain confidence in your ability to navigate life’s ups and downs with clarity and strength.

Group Details:

  • This group is for youth aged 13-17 years old.

  • This group begins Monday, July 6th and runs daily throughout Friday, July 10th. Each session is 1 hour from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.

  • This group takes place in person at our Peterborough office.

  • The fee for this group is $1580.00.

📢 Is your child starting high school this fall? Let’s make the transition smooth & confident! High school is a big leap, but with the right skills, your child can start strong! Our Transition to High School Skills Group is a 6-week program running from July 29 – Sept 2nd, and 2 follow up sessions in September & October.

This skills group is geared towards youth with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis and is an OAP-eligible expense.


This group is being run for students transitioning to KPRDSB and PVNCDSB high schools in Cobourg - St. Mary’s and CCI

Group Details:

  • 📅 6-week program starting July 29th with daytime sessions from 10:00am - 11:30am and 2 follow up sessions (September 23rd and October 28th from4:30-5:30)

  • Session Length: 1.5 hours

  • 📍 Location: Canopy Support Services -975 Elgin St W Suite 12

  • 🎯 Cost: $2,360 for the 6 week group plus 2 follow ups

Community Crew for Teens - Cobourg

🌟 Stepping Out in Cobourg with Confidence is perfect for teens who are ready to take the next step toward independence—on their own terms! 🌟

Stepping Out with Confidence is a 4-week Applied Behaviour Analysts (ABA)-based group designed just for teens on the Autism Spectrum who are eager to build independence, social skills, and real-world confidence—at their own pace.

Each week, teens will join a small, supportive group of peers to:
Practice executive functioning skills like planning, organizing, and managing time.
Build social confidence through engaging, real-life interactions.
Go on guided community outings—ordering at a restaurant, navigating public spaces like the YMCA, or shopping with a purpose.

Led by experienced ABA therapists, this group provides a low-pressure, encouraging environment where teens can grow, make friends, and develop skills they'll use every day.

Group Details:

  • 📅 Dates: Weekly from August 5th, 2026 – August 26th, 2026

  • Time: 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM

  • 📍 Location: Canopy Support Services Cobourg, 975 Elgin St. West, Cobourg, ON

  • 💰 Cost: $2010.00. This is an OAP-eligible expense.

PEERS® for Adolescents Social Skills Group

PEERS® for Adolescents
Social Skills Group

PEERS® for Adolescents is a 14-week evidence-based social skills program for adolescents in middle and high school who are interested in making and keeping friends and/or handling conflict and rejection.

Participants will learn:

  • Developing and Maintaining Friendships

  • Conversational skills

  • Entering and exiting conversations

  • Appropriate use of humor

  • Handling disagreements

  • Electronic communication

  • Being a good sport

  • Organizing get-togethers

  • Handling teasing and bullying

  • Changing Reputations

Cost:

  • The fee for this 14 week group is $4900.00 and is an OAP-eligible expense.

Group Details:

  • This group is for teens with a diagnosis of Autism, aged 13-17 years old.

  • This 14 week group begins Thursday, September 10th and runs until Thursday, December 10th, 2026.

  • Parents attend separate sessions simultaneously and are taught how to assist adolescents in making and keeping friends (parent participation Is required).

  • Each week will be 1 hour in length and participants are taught social skills through didactic lessons and role-play demonstrations and practice these skills during group socialization activities.

  • This group takes place in person at our Peterborough office.
